Chapter 13
Calli’s POV
I woke up the next morning with some one jumping on my bed. I groaned and threw a pillow on whoever was jumping up and down. Suddenly the person laid down the bed next to me, pulling the covers up and turning on the TV.
I laughed, “Raina.” She always came over in the mornings and did this because she got “bored,”
“Come on chick, we have to do some packing,” she pointed to the boxes she brought, “we can move into our dorm room today. And guess what it’s me, you, and Marissa! It’s going to be one huge sleepover!” She rambled excitedly.
“Don’t you have to pack?” I asked in between giggles. She rolled her eyes at me, “See, we all don’t wait until the day we move in to pack up our entire room and move it. But honey, you’re going to have to get rid of some of your crap. Three people, with a room almost smaller then this.”
I should have known that, Raina’s a neat freak. “It’s not junk..” I murmered.
She held up a paint splattered piece of paper. “How is this not junk?”
I shrugged, “It looks pretty..?”
She rolled her eyes, “If there’s no use for it, then it’s considered junk.”
We packed my clothes, books, and personal items. She only let me have one “junk” box. I sighed, this was depressing. I loved having lots of junk. The most stuff I had was three boxes of hockey stuff. Parts of sticks, tape, size chart, old equipment, jerseys, and cards. You name it.
Raina laughed, “There’s going to be so much hockey stuff in our room with two players and one huge fan.”
“Like the NHL has exploded in our dorm room.” I grinned.
“Surprise, surprise.” A man said in my doorway, knocking lightly.
“CONNOR!” We both screamed before practically tackling him. He grinned, “My, my ladies. Nice to see you to.”
Raina laughed, her eyes sparking. “I thought you weren’t going to get home until next week!”
“Yea, but I missed you lovely ladies so much that I just had to come home early.” He joked.
I hugged him one more time. “Great, now you can help us move to our dorm.”
Connor has been our best friend since 6th grade, we were all in the same homeroom. We’ve been inseperable since then. He’s going to Ducainec, so we’ll all be close together.
We loaded all the boxes into the trunk of Raina’s car, hugged Connor one more time, and left to the room. Marissa was inside with her boxes.
“I haven’t unpaked so we could all choose to be fair. Do you mind if I get the top bunk, though?” she explained.
I nodded, Raina hates top bunks, so that left me with the loft bed. It was a tiny, tiny room but I loved it anyway. The walls were a deep red and there was the bunk beds on one wall, and on the other wall was the loft bed. Pushed up against that was a wardrobe, creating a little corner thing. Under the bed was a desk. On the wall next to the bunk beds, were two more desks. In the corner, was one of the bookshelves that fit into corners. There was two more wardrobes pushed up against the far wall. We unpacked in silence, organizing her items in our own way. I put my clothes in the wardrobe my colors, I like to start neat. Under my bed, I put up my corkboard. On it was pictures of me playing hockey, Raina, Connor, Marissa, and Sid and I. I had an empty dresser thing that I put baskets in. In those baskets were my make up, straightner, and girl things like that. I moved my spinny chair to underneath my desk and put a stack of my hockey books on my desk. I then put my Pittsburgh Penguins comforter on my bed, and looked around. Between the three of us, this room looked the Penguins shop threw up. We had hockey cards, pennants, doodles of Stanley Cups, and everything hockey. There wasn’t a surface of the walls without a Pittsburgh sports advertisement on it. This was going to be a great year.
I was sitting in the middle of the dorm room trying to pack for our tournament in Halifax. My tournament is two days before Sid’s road games in Canada, so we are going to visit his parents and then they’re all watching my tournament. I better have a good game.
“So you have to pack for two things: Fun partying with Sidney and hanging out with parents. And if you go out somewhere nice, probably a dress.” Raina stated.
I groaned, I was nervous enough as it is. I basically just tossed half of my wardrobe into my duffle bag, double checked I had all of my hockey equipment, and packed a backpack full of books, textbooks, and other things to keep me interested. I collapsed in bed, my nerves draining all of my energy. Not only do I have to worry about my first hockey game in the college level, I have to meet my boyfriends parents. Joy to the world.
